Our week

My goodness it has been a crazy one. Devyn has been sick since last Friday...exactly one week and he is just now on the mend. We had quite a few days where we almost had to take him to the hospital because he wasn't having enough wet diapers, but then he would come through. He has a sinus infection and ear infection and that made his tummy feel yucky. I now have a sinus infection, I just went to the doc today. Even with everything going on we decided to get pictures done because Tim's mom and Frank are leaving in the morning from their vacation here. I had taken a week of vacation too. Enjoy the pictures! (there is a full family one all the way at the bottom)

Preschool Graduation

Who knew there was a such a thing?! Recently we had Logan's preschool graduation ceremony at school. You can see here that they were singing Alice's camel. Logan breaks into song everyone once in a while around the house now. I should start calling it preschool musical! Make that kindergarten since he starts 4K tomorrow! Time sure flies...Devyn is getting big too. As you can see here he is already starting to drive! :)

It's been a while

It's been too long since I last updated the pictures and shared a little story.  Things are going well.  Logan just had a birthday this week.  We went to an amusement park for the day...it was lots of fun.  Logan rode his first big roller coaster!  Jury is still out if he liked it or not.  As you can see we just had pictures done.  They are getting so big!

Monkey see...Monkey do...Monkey get in trouble too!

Tim and I had an interesting call from daycare a couple days ago. Apparently, Logan and one of his little friends decided to relieve themselves in the sandbox at school...not once, but twice! Logan has never been allowed to pee outside, nor has he ever seen something like that (to our knowledge). Granted, he is a 4 year old boy and they will do crazy things. It was all Tim and I could do to not laugh when we got the call. The consequences of his actions were two things 1) call mom and 2) the administrator said he could not go outside to play with his class in the afternoon. After we got done with the phone call she walked him back to his room. His class was gone so she took him to the adjoining room. They were getting ready to go out and play. The admin said to Logan that they had to find another room to go to because he wasn't allowed back out. He proceeded to say that this was not his class, so he could go out because she had said he couldn't go out with HIS class!!!!! She decided he was right...he called her on it, so he got to play outside with that class. I think we have a little lawyer on our hands!

Not much to report this week...I suppose that can be a good thing! The boys are getting bigger...what else is new? Just to show that, I have posted Devyn's 4 month pictures. He was so good during the photo session. The photographer couldn't believe how good he is and how much he smiles. I think these are photo contest worthy...don't you?!

Happy Independence Day Weekend!

I don't know about you, but we had a ball this weekend! Saturday we headed out to my mom and dad's (that was just yesterday, but it seems so long ago!). We had dinner and laid pretty low. Logan played outside for a bit before dinner.

We got up pretty early this morning and all got ready to head out to my grandma's house. I baked (yes, please stop laughing) an AMAZING lemon cooler cake and made my typical pasta salad since I still can't eat dairy and knew it would be slim pickings for me at the table. The lemon cake was awesome. It is a jello poke cake. Mom and I tried to think of different variations we could make with it. I think I might try a strawberry one soon and maybe even chocolate cherry. Anyhow, we ate a marvelous lunch and then came the parade... Logan and his cousins sat right in the front on grandma's yard with bags in hand ready to catch the candy launched at them. A couple floats had popsicles to throw and one even had ice cold milk...gotta love it! The parade lasted about an hour and a half. The kids had a ball. We then went over to my aunt's house for the kids to go swimming. We went back to mom and dad's for baths and then hit the road. Both kids zonked out before we even hit the halfway mark home. What a great day!

Dinner time

Well, it was actually ni-night time. Devyn had gotten the idea that it was to his advantage to wake up multiple times a night again like when he was a couple days old. We discussed this and determined mom needs more sleep than that. So, I won and he tried cereal in a bottle. Big brother got a kick out of feeding him. Devyn absolutely does not like the cereal though. Not sure what we are going to do. He slept through the night last night, but I think that is because he had a long day at school painting! :)

It's officially summer...

Willy Waterbug made it's way out, so summer is officially here folks! It's funny, Willy was mine when I was little. So this is an old bug that has made it many miles and many summers. Logan had a blast with Willy yesterday. As you can see, Logan had a lot of fun in the sun.

Joke of the Day - Logan's favorite

I just have to share this (guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone from age 3-103)...

Knock Knock...
Who's there...
Hatch...
Hatch Who?...
God Bless You

Zoo 2009

Well, we had our first trip to the zoo this summer. Logan had a zoo class so my mom took him to class while Devyn and I toodled around the zoo. We had a grand ol' time jumping from one shady spot to another so he wouldn't have to be covered by the stroller canopy or blanket. We liked the spot by the elephants the best. Lots of shade and a little less crowded. The zoo was absolutely packed. Anyhow, Logan and grandma enjoyed learning about Hippos. As you can see by the picture, they make crafts that make them look like the animals. Devyn sure had a fun time watching the world go by while big brother played. I hope we get back there a couple more times this summer. We just love the zoo.

Dedication

We had the boys dedicated at church on May 31. It was pastor's last service at the church before moving so it was important to us to get this in. The pictures are a little fuzzy, but it was jam packed in there. The service was very nice and the dedication was very special. You can't see it in the pictures, but the boys wore matching outfits. Logan, of course, had to show off up there. Devyn just hung out and was smiling away.

It's about time!

Boy, it's about time I update this! I went back to work on the 18th of May. It has been a crazy month. You will be happy to know that I didn't have to buy any new pants for work! Yeah me!

Devyn and Logan are doing well in school. Devyn is all smiles at school, his teachers and friends just love it!

We are slowly getting into a routine at home. I get up at the crack of dawn and still don't have time to work out. I do at least 1 or 2 loads of laundry a day. (how 4 people can create that much laundry I will never know) When I get up I get myself ready, make my lunch, get my stuff together for work and then get Devyn up, feed him, dress him, etc. Then it's Logan's turn. Tim typically helps get Logan ready in the morning if I have to feed Devyn. Needless to say I get up early and go to bed late. I figure sleep is highly over rated and I will try it again in about 18 years.

With that being said...off to bed.

Happy Birthday Tim!

Saturday was Tim's birthday, so I made it my mission to bake a cake. Actually, the only reason I baked a cake was because the only ones the grocery store had were full of pastel flowers. So, I decided to see if the MN baking incidents were just a fluke. I proved they were! The cake turned out lovely. So, I asked Logan to help me frost it. He was thrilled! I let him lick the frosting container and spatula before noon! It was way better than any cake I could have bought at the store.

The day was fun. Mom and dad came over for a sleep over. It may have been Logan's birthday with all the surprises...frosting, grandma and grandpa, and presents that weren't his that he got to open anyway!!!

Daddy made his famous ribs and we got to play outside most of the day. It was no where near warm enough, but Logan and his little friend down the street started running through a sprinkler that was on...fully clothed in long sleeve t-shirt and jeans! If only I had a picture of that one.

Well, only one and a half weeks before I go back to work. I am excited to get back to my career, but at the same time I am very sad. I love spending time with Devyn. Our time together is precious, just like my leave with Logan. I am going to miss it very much. I just hope to make the most out of this time and prepare myself mentally (and physically) for work.

I am posting this because maybe it is my only way to motivate...I have to lose one more pant size before I go back to work. I think I can do it, but it might help if I actually exercise. I have been walking and doing the Wii Fit when I can, but throwing my back out this weekend didn't help matters. If I don't lose one more pant size, much to my dismay and the bank account's, I will have to head to the store. I am so close to fitting in my old clothes, but I am just not quite there yet. Fingers are crossed and more updates to come!

Bath Time!

Logan had fun in the bath tonight after his full day of playing outside. We had a BBQ tonight and he got to be quite a mess. The bubbles in this bath were so fluffy! I've never seen so many bubbles...neither had Logan. It made getting clean very fun for him and Nana!

The laugh

Devyn has started laughing and smiling! Well...it's not a true laugh, but he snorts. It's pretty cute. Claudia can get him to laugh by playing a game like patty cakes with him. He gets a kick out of it and starts snorting.

Logan is doing well...finally coming down off his sugar high from yesterday. I think he ate the equivalent of a pound of candy! Between the candy from the Easter Bunny and the deserts from dinner he was pretty loaded up on sweets. But, what can you do, it's Easter!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! We have been having a great time. Claudia and Frank are here from Canada this week and got to spend Easter with us. The Easter Bunny left eggs all over the house and Logan had a blast finding them. We also had another little surprise...we placed pieces of his new dirt bike gear throughout the house and he had to find all of them. Then, after he opened everything we went into the garage to reveal...the bike! Logan walked right past it thinking only eggs were in there...then he spotted it and his jaw dropped. Then he promptly asked, where are the rest of the eggs! It was hilarious. We finally got him in his gear and he took off around the yard with Tim on the back of the bike. They even popped a wheelie! Logan can't wait to go out again. We wish everyone a happy and blessed Easter Sunday.

Logan's new bike...shhhh it's a secret

So, Logan has been doing very well with his sticker reward sheet. In fact, tonight he helped me change Devyn, give Devyn a bath and he had his listening ears on almost all night! Given that he has been so good, Tim went and bought the dirt bike on Sunday. Here is a picture of it. We are ordering the gear he needs and new numbers. He wants the number 3 on the bike. We plan on giving it to him the Friday or Saturday before Easter I think. We shall see if I can hold out that long before he gets it!

Devyn's first bath!

Devyn had his first bath tonight. He actually did well and didn't scream too much. Logan was a great big helper. Devyn is very much like big brother Logan...he loves his lotion!

Photographer Cori and Logan's dirt bike dreams

I hope everyone enjoys these two pictures as much as I do. The doctor had advised us not to take Devyn out and about until he is closer to 4-6 weeks old so I decided to take pictures myself today. They were fun to take! Logan is still very proud of his little brother as you can see.

Logan and I went to Target tonight to get some shopping done. He was such a good boy at the store! We have a new incentive system we are trying with Logan to make sure he is behaving. We have had a hard time lately with him "losing" his listening ears. We now have a poster board on our fridge that says "Logan's Dirt Bike Racing Sheet." He gets a sticker for everytime he is a good boy and has his listening ears, helps with Devyn, etc. He gets an "x" each time he does something naughty. At the end of the next month or two, if he has more stickers than x's we will buy him a dirt bike. Yes, a real 50 cc Kawasaki dirt bike. We shall see!

Devyn Xavier

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it has been so long since the last update. I hope you enjoy the pictures I am attaching. Devyn Xavier was born last Wednesday at 11:57 am. He was 8 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. Big brother Logan is quite a proud little boy. He is so helpful and always wants to cuddle, hog or kiss on his baby brother. I hope tokeep the blog up a little more now that I am no longer pregnant and passing out on the couch at an early hour! Now I can feed Devyn and upload pictures :) More to come...
